Zimbabwe Saints aim to end poor run

Saints coach Edmore Sibanda said his team was going to fight tooth and nail to get the three precious points after being on the receiving end for the past few weeks.

“We desperately need the three points and we will  try our level best to win this match. Our team was boosted by the return of most of our players who had left. The team spirit is back and I am hopeful that we will come out with a positive result,” Sibanda said.

The team last won on Africa day when they beat Ntabazinduna 2-1.

Last weekend Chikwata were edged 1-0 by Black Boots while Bulawayo Chiefs lost to Hwange based Power Cosmos by the same score line.

Second placed How Mine will play host to Ntabazinduna today also knowing that a win will propel them to the top of the log two points ahead of Bantu Rovers who will take to the field 24 hours later.

How Mine coach Sheunesu Chaka said their preparations were going on well and his team was going to play their normal game while stressing that his boys were not going to be under any pressure.

“The boys are ready for Ntabazinduna in front of our home crowd but we are not playing to go on top of the log or to pip Bantu Rovers off the top spot, we are just playing to get the best possible result and the boys know they are not under any pressure.”

“Other teams may change their tactics depending on opponents or some other factors but not us,” Chaka said.
He said the lack of cohesion in the middle of the park had been addressed hence he was expecting a good game from his team.

Both teams are coming from wins with How Mine beating Rufaro Rovers 2-0 at their home ground and Ntabazinduna beating Projects 3-0 also in front of their home crowd.

In other matches Tsholotsho will be hoping to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Railstars last weekend when they play against Black Boots.

Pacesetters Bantu Rovers travel to Hwange tomorrow for a clash with Power Cosmos hoping to consolidate their hold on the top spot.
