ZNSSA not affiliated to Zifa: Japajapa

second vice-president, who is also their spokesperson, said their body is a voluntary organisation that does not need to be affiliated with Zifa.
“Our association operates under the Private and Voluntary Organisations Act which governs the operation of non-governmental organisations and associations.
“We want to make it clear that we are not an affiliate of Zifa and thus the statement made by Ndumiso Gumede that his association does not recognise our association is null and void.
“Soccer supporters associations world over are not regulated by national football associations, they are voluntary organisations which operate voluntarily.
“We can be registered with the Ministry of Labour and Social Services,” said Japajapa.
The outspoken ZNSSA second vice-president also said Zifa should not try and cause confusion to destroy their association which he said has been in existence for the past two-and-a-half decades.
“We have received information that Fifa has requested Zifa to appoint a supporters liaison officer and we are not opposed to that but we want it to be done professionally.
“We want to add value to how Zimbabwean football is run and avoid unnecessary squabbles with the so-called Friends of the Warriors Association who are meant to destroy our association,” added Japajapa.
“We are demanding a speed conclusion to the Asiagate investigations, we need those players who have been fingered in the scam to come back and give a service to the nation through selection and playing for the national soccer team’s next international matches. Those who are found guilty should face the music.”
