ONE of Zimbabwe`s Leading Internet Service provider has just started a new and refreshing tech radio show aptly dubbed the ZOL Tech Radio, where they are going to be bringing a lot of real tech talk live on radio. Currently running on StarFm drive time every Thursday from 6.30pm pm till 7pm, this is yet another exciting way to disseminate technology at national level.
Speaking to their Marketing Manager Alana Chinhara recently during a tête-à-tête, I loved the so much energy oozing out of her and it looks like we are heading another crazy marketing season as the Team Will go all out to market the brand.
Kicking off the new Tech radio show was last week was the ZOL founder David Behr and the new ZOL chief executive officer, Mr Denny Marandure as they celebrated some two good decades of service provision.
From a CEO perspective, I could pick what the two gentleman envision to see their company be in the next few years as they briefly spoke on their background. Interestingly, they spoke on the big possibilities of Zimbabweans running on a gigabit speed, to them they say its possible, but probably simply a matter of demand as all they need is to hit the upgrade button when the demand rises since they are actually running on 2.5gbps. During an interview with Star Fm’s Kudzi Sadomba, David Behr said “ZOL to me is all about connecting people together, in the last 20 years we have been at the fore front. We have moved from dial up ADSL , Wimax and now we on fibre the leading cutting edge technology and we have made Zimbabwe join the global community.”
“Thanks to David, I inherited a good product, we are a vibrant company growing and we value our clients and at the cornerstone of our value creation is the quality of our network and network experience have challenged ourselves to find ways to do things better.” said Denny
The second show was with Alana Chinhara and Anthony Somerset talking the technicalities of Fibre and how much speed one can really get from the fibroniks. For ZOL, they say the are not just laying fibre, theirs is fibroniks, setting apart from other fibre laying companies. Of course to those who have already listened to the new radio advert, there is a lot of poking in it which I will separately look into very soon. – Technomag
