RIOZIM is set to come up with a “revised” recapitalisation scheme and debt retirement strategy after shareholders rejected the initial plans.

African Consolidated Resources to start production at Zimbabwe mine

AFRICAN Consolidated Resources (ARC) expects to start phase one production at its Pickstone gold project in Zimbabwe mid-next year.
The Zimbabwe-focused company  said the project, although subject to funding, is successfully en route in its development to generate cash through its Pickstone sulphide tailings dump project.
ACR chief executive officer Mr Andrew Cranswick said in a statement that cash generation could fund subsequent investment in production phases at Pickstone while affording the company a more aggressive drill out of other assets.

Orphanage gets donation

MUSTARD Seed Communities Zimbabwe, an orphanage on the outskirts of Bulawayo, has received a washing machine and dryer with a combined value $2 400 from Homelink Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the ceremony Homelink chief executive officer, Mr Allan Choruma said supporting children in their development would secure the future of the nation.
“There is a need to be dedicated in supporting the children in their development, because these children are going to grow up and be leaders of tomorrow. If we do not look after children and the less privileged the country will not go forward in its socio-economic development,” he said.

CABS introduces Visa Electron debit card

The Central African Building Society (CABS) has introduced an Visa Electron debit card which will enable customers to access their accounts in any country, an official has said.
The difference between Visa Electron and Visa Debit is that payments with the former requires    all the funds to be available at   the time of transfer, meaning that accounts may not be overdrawn,  while the latter allows transfers exceeding available funds up to a certain limit.
