FADING Bulawayo giants Highlanders will next week announce  their squad which will be made up of experienced and junior players amid reports that seven new players from           Harare started training with the black and white striped side last week.

NGO embarks on goat project

Zimbabwe Project Trust (ZimPro), a local NGO has started a goat-rearing project in Insiza with a vision to alleviate poverty in marginalised communities in the country.
In an interview at the launch of a book Against all odds recently, Mr Edwin Murwira, the chairman of board of trustees, said they had identified 50 families in Insiza district which will benefit from the goat project. The book traces the history of the NGO.

SOUTH Africa has so far deported a total of 14 932 Zimbabweans through Beitbridge Border Post since the neighbouring country resumed the exercise in October last year.
The assistant regional manager-in-charge of Beitbridge Border Post, Mr Charles Gwede, said between 7 October and December last year, they handled 7 755 deportees.

The rains that fell in the past week            after a long dry patch have awakened this small-holder farmer deep in rural Plumtree,  on the  border with Botswana to the reality of sparse rainfall, climate change and how she and her fellow villagers can respond.
Plumtree, like most parts of southwestern Zimbabwe, is characterised for low rainfall. But millions of farmers in the country rely on rain-fed agriculture and food they grow themselves, which presents villagers like Moyo with tough choices.
