Ministers under probe for corruption

Harare Bureau
The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating several Cabinet ministers for corruption, ZACC chairman Mr Denford Chirindo has said.

He said all found in breach would face the full wrath of the law.

Speaking after the launch of ZACC website in Harare yesterday, Mr Chirindo said no one was “untouchable”.

He said ZAAC was investigating corruption allegations against several people who include Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament.

Mr Chirindo, however, refused to name some of the ‘bigwigs’ under investigation.

“We are not targeting only the small fish as some people may think,” he said.

“There are no sacred cows and all the reports that we have received including those of several ministers, senior Government officials and MPs are under investigation.” he said.

Bogus estate agents on the prowl

Pamela Shumba
BOGUS estate agents are on the prowl in Bulawayo with scores of people having been swindled of their hard earned cash.

Some of the victims who spoke to Chronicle this week  said they were made to pay $150 to bogus housing agents who were advertising non-existent accommodation in the Press and at strategic areas around the city especially busy supermarkets.

Some of the home seekers said they discovered that they had been duped of their hard earned money after depositing $150 each in one Swaniso Ncube’s Kingdom Bank account.
Ncube, who has since been reported to the police for making more than one person pay for an apartment at Northlyne Court at the corner of Herbert Chitepo Street and First Avenue, is reportedly from Gweru.

The home seekers said Ncube convinced them that he had an apartment to let only to discover that it was not his.
