THE Zimbabwe National Army Manicaland chapter will tomorrow host its annual fun shoot fundraiser at the Gimboki Gallery Range in Mutare. The annual event open to all allows interested members of the public an opportunity to handle firearms. Gimboki Gallery Range Fun shoot organising chairman, Martin Nyaundi, said this year the firearms available for target practice will be AK47 riffles and a range of pistols.
Adding that this year there will be jumping castles and braaing to make it an ideal family-day outing. “The fun shoots allow civilians an opportunity to learn how to use firearms in a fun environment. The target practice ranges will be 100 metres for the pistols and 200metres for the AK47 rifles. We really implore people to come in their numbers and enjoy with us on this day,” said Nyaundi.
The event which usually takes place in September was this year postponed to November due to logistical reasons. He, however, said all was in place and as usual the proceeds from the event would go towards army charities.
“This is also a charitable event where the proceeds from the event will go towards army charities,” he said. Nyaundi said the event was also open to professional shooters who will in-turn be allowed to do more challenging ranges to their pleasure.
