America in pursuit of world dominance

Shame Isaki
The same people are not afraid to call it quits when things seem not to be working and they know when to say enough is enough when a relationship of whatever nature is not working and proving to be costly.
America is one country in the world, and we all know it, which is not scared of making decisions and following them through, some of them with terrible consequences.

Maybe this explains why it has grown to become a superpower, but with its daring attitude it has also made terrible blunders, most of which will perpetually haunt it.

In America’s pursuit of world dominance, it has employed unsavoury, inhumane tactics to achieve this and some examples are the subversion of constitutionally elected governments, arming dissidents in foreign countries and spying on almost everyone on earth.

All these moves have been designed to make sure that governments of the world are made up of people who are ‘‘loyal’’ to America, people who are ‘‘obedient’’ and willing to give everything to it in exchange for ‘‘protection’’, aid and the ‘‘unlimited’’ supply of the greenback.

Unfortunately, across the whole world there have been such people, puppets, who have betrayed the masses of their countries by making their countries extensions of the USA.

While this has been happening, it is also true that there are some principled leaders who have steadfastly refused to be manipulated or bought by America and one African leader stands out among a few and this man is none other than President Robert Gabriel Mugabe.

When a leader refuses to toe the line, America’s line, the next thing is he is America’s number one enemy and America is prepared to fund a war against one such person.

Saddam Hussein of Iraq, Muammar Gaddafi of Libya, Laurent Kabila of DRC, Samora Machel of Mozambique all are names of leaders who crossed America’s red line and met their fate.

Some are alive, but have been brought before the ICC on trumped-up charges. President Assad of Syria is actually living on borrowed time because already a pretext for entering and attacking Syria has been created in the guise of wanting to track down the ISIS militants.

Obviously once America enters Syria they will make sure that the Assad government is ousted because they cannot stand a Syrian government in alliance with Russia.

Back home, President Mugabe is one leader who has been consistent in defending not only Zimbabwe’s sovereignty, but that of the whole of Africa. For those who don’t know all those wars in which Zimbabwe intervened, be it in Mozambique, DRC, Somalia, you name it, there was always a foreign government sponsoring these insurgencies and because President Mugabe and his defence forces scuttled all those evil plans, the guns have been turned against him and his country in the form of the punitive sanctions.

I am so proud of President Mugabe and our defence forces because in all the countries we assisted militarily, victory was realised. Look at Mozambique, DRC and Angola.

We don’t fight to lose. We are winners and even today we have won against those who imposed illegal sanctions on us, America, Britain and the whole EU bloc.

We survived their onslaught and now when they least expect it, Zimbabwe has entered into serious, major investment deals with China and Russia, superpowers in their own right.

What has sent shock waves across the West is the nature of the investments agreed on because these form the backbone of any economy and not America’s and Britain’s food aid and conditional tranches of assistance.

The China deals are about infrastructure development and refurbishment of the road and railway networks, infrastructure development on the newly acquired farms, power-generation, among many other things.

Since independence, we have been relying on infrastructure built by the Rhodesian government and it was fast wearing out, outdated and giving in to the growing population and investments in these sectors surely is refreshing because we are now drawing a line between colonialism and self-rule which is what America and friends do not want to hear.

They can’t stand seeing their nemesis, President Mugabe, being given full state honours by a rival superpower and hear that the same superpower has entered into life-changing agreements with a minnow Zimbabwe.

No wonder the US Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Bruce Wharton, was quick to dismiss China’s involvement in Zimbabwe as being not transparent and mutually beneficial.

It is actually a question of sour grapes and for Mr Wharton to claim that the US never disengaged with Zimbabwe is just but a heap of lies because he now realises that America has lost out heavily during his tenure and that is not good for his diplomatic CV.

Now to remain relevant, the US Ambassador has started some controversial community projects where he has disbursed as little as $90 000.
Surely Zimbabwe can’t survive on $90 000.

America has intercepted millions of Zimbabwe funds and through sanctions Zimbabwe has lost billions of dollars. This is the money we want back and not this ‘‘change’’ you are using to hoodwink us.

While Mr Wharton was still recovering from China’s shock, Russia’s top diplomat, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, jetted into the country to commission the $3 billion Integrated Platinum Group Metals project or simply the Great Dyke Investments Project.

Another superpower, another deal, more headache for Mr Wharton and America! If America is good at making decisions, good or bad, then President Mugabe is by far better at that. Hatisikumira — Bhora Mberi!
