THE ruling party, Zanu PF, and the Second Republic will not stand idly by while beneficiaries of the Presidential Revolving Fund squander their allocated funds and fail to return the money for others to benefit.
This warning was issued by Madzibaba Moses, the national chairman of MaZion and Vapostori 4 ED, during the disbursement of ZanuPF’s share of US$50 000 for beneficiaries in Mashonaland West province at Biri Primary School, located 10 kilometres south of
Chinhoyi town.
The affiliate received its share three weeks ago at Kutama grounds from Presidential Advisor on Investments, Cde Paul Tempta Tungwarara, where seven other affiliates also benefitted.
Madzibaba Moses cautioned the benefiting churches against misusing the funds instead of investing in income-generating projects.
“We have given you three months to invest this money and generate profit before returning your share, interest-free,” he said.
“Let me emphasise that this is the money that could lead to incarceration if not handled properly. We will not simply watch you squander these funds.
”You should all support President Mnangagwa, who aims for economic stability. He expects us to contribute to nation-building, which can only be achieved if we utilise this money wisely.”
The disbursement enabled at least 90 affiliate churches to receive their portion of the funds, which they are expected to return by January 2026.
Beneficiaries who spoke to The Zimpapers during the handover ceremony expressed their gratitude to President Mnangagwa for his support.
Bishop Lilian Zendera of the ACCZ church and vice chairperson of MaZion and Vapostori 4ED stated that the funds will be used to initiate poultry and horticulture projects to aid church members.
“We plan to start poultry and horticulture projects to support our members. This initiative will also help address gender-based violence while combating drug and substance abuse,” she said.
Ms Wadzanai Svisva, another beneficiary, remarked that the funds demonstrate President Mnangagwa’s commitment to uplifting communities and ensuring no one is left behind.
“President Mnangagwa is encouraging us to help build the nation, and he has gone the extra mile by providing funds to uplift our communities from the grassroots level,” she said.
Madzibaba Michael Chakaingesu, also known as Sapatina Sapatina, noted that President Mnangagwa’s open-door policy is designed for everyone, not just businesspeople.
“We have been looked down upon in the past, but the Second Republic and President Mnangagwa honour and value us. Vision 2030 will be achievable if everyone participates in these empowerment initiatives. The Second Republic has restored the dignity of
indigenous churches, allowing us to engage in the country’s economic affairs,” he stated.
Other affiliates who benefited, including the Children of War Veterans, Pastors for ED, Vendors for ED, Boyz DzaMdara, and Health Ambassadors for ED, also expressed their eagerness to make a positive impact in their communities through income-generating
projects.
