MUTARE City Council-owned netball side, Mutare City Queens, continue to find the going tough in the Zimbabwe Netball Super League after succumbing to yet another 29-66 crushing defeat to city rivals, Tenax Queens last weekend.Simba Nenhunzi’s ladies, Mutare City Queens, lost their opening two matches against defending champions, Nehanda 56-15 and Beta Queens 47-21, before recovering and beating Morris Depot away 24-28 in their third match.
But they went on to share the spoils with Morris Depot at home after a 26-all deadlock before they plunged into a 29-32 defeat at the hands of Support Unit.
The Mutare side went on to suffer a narrow defeat at the hands of Air Force which won 23-22.
Mutare City Queens bounced back in the elite League after three years of toiling in the less fashioned Division One League.
However, their coach, Nenhunzi is optimistic about a bright future.
“We are working very hard. At the moment we are building a team and hope to improve in our coming games. We still believe we have chances to improve,” he said.
Meanwhile, it is a different story all together for the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service side, Tenax Queens who are enjoying a purple patch. Tenax Queens so far have played eight league matches and have won seven of them.
