ANOTHER Zimbabwean footballer has joined a club inA� the South African ABSA Premiership.
Cleopas Dube (ABOVE) has joined Baroka FC on a three-year deal.
a�?I signed a contract with Baroka FC a few days ago and ita��s quite an honour to be playing in the ABSA Premiership next season. Its every playera��s dream to see his career improve and playing in a more competitive league,a�? said Dube from his base in South Africa although he was not at liberty to divulge the finer details of the deal.
Baroka FC, are a Limpopo Province based club, that gained promotion into the ABSA Premiership from the National First Division for the 2016/17 season.
Owned by Limpopo businessman Rachuene Khurishi Mphahlele, Baroka FC made a name for themselves on the South Africa football scene by knocking out Soweto giants Moroka Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs in the 2011 edition of the knockout Nedbank Cup – a knockout competition played by ABSA Premiership teams together with lower division clubs.
Prior to joining them, Dube scored 13 goals for National First Division side Witbank Spurs last season.
He replaces Orlando Pirates bound striker Thabiso Kutumela.
Dube played for local giants Highlanders in 2014 before moving to South Africa where he played with Tendai Ndoroa��s brother Takudzwa at Witbank Spurs.
