Independence eve fiesta at Mandisa

Entertainment Correspondent
POPULAR entertainment spot Mandisa Nite Club’s proprietor Boniface Nyamanhindi has urged patrons and fellow Zimbabweans to attend the fun-filled Independence eve fiesta tonight (Friday) where the joint will play host to an array of musicians, among them urban groover Juicer Mpostori.

“It is that time of the year where we meet and celebrate the country’s independence. We should honour and thank the fallen heroes and heroines who fought for this country and liberated us all. This is an opportune time to pay tribute and celebrate the country’s 35 years of freedom,” he said.

Juicer, who will be officially launching his new album Mai Tatenda, will be supported by various upcoming musicians such as dancehall whizkid Lady Popa and love ballads specialist Charlie Nyz.

The Sakubva-born entertainer last released the album Ndibate mushe last year which did not do well on the market apparently because it had a peculiar beat that was different from his yesteryear hits that catapulted him to glory.

This time, Juicer said he reverted to his original sound and hopes to bounce back as one of the talented musicians in Mutare.

In an interview, the 30-year-old musician said the album carries eight tracks which include the title track Mai Tatenda, Sometimes, Ndatosvorwa, Ndibate mushe, Ndigere bho, Kun’anga. And not to be outdone, Juicer included a dancehall track, Ndirimubhoyi.

He redid tracks like Ndigere bho, Kun’anga and Ndibate mushe.

The album was recorded at Twilight Studios.

“I am back in Mutare after a successful stint in Harare. I took my time coming up with a project like this and I am looking forward to having a fun-filled album launch. It is an honour releasing an album at the same time when we are celebrating our country’s Independence,” he said.

He has a spanning career which stretches from around 2002 has been inactive in professional music resorting to holding live shows in and around local bars that include PaBako in Sakubva.

His promising music career has, however, been manned by lack of seriousness, funds and professionalism.
