MAFERO A WORRIED MAN

JOEY Antipas has lamented the inconsistency of his men, which he fears, might dash their hopes of winning the league title.

Chicken Inn now trail log leaders FC Platinum by six points.

FC Platinum sit on 47 points from 22 games.

At one point, the Gamecocks enjoyed a four-point lead at the top of the log, in the first half of the season.

But, since the beginning of the second half of the season, Chicken Inn have been jittery, losing crucial games against Dynamos and Tenax.

“You can’t compete for the title when there is no consistency. “You can’t win one game and lose another and expect to be a genuine title contender,” said Antipas.

“Consistency is very important if we are to fight for the title, and we have to work hard and hope that we collect points.

“Going forward we need to fight and work collectively as a team if we are to entertain any hopes of the title.”

He added:

“It’s difficult to bring in new players at this stage of the season.

“We can’t just bring in players for the sake of it.

“If they come, they need time to adapt to our philosophy and it takes time.

“We can’t just bring in players to be regulars on the bench because I know we have a good team that is capable of doing better than what we are doing at the moment.”

Chicken Inn travel to Nyamhunga to play against ZPC Kariba on Saturday in their next league match.
