THE lure of the South African rand seems to be a major pulling factor in attracting local players across the Limpopo with How Mine striker Charles Sibanda attending trials at First National Division (NFD) club Black Leopards.
Leopards are also home to former Zimbabwe Under-20 coach Jairos Tapera.
Sibanda a the 2010 Player of the Year and former Highlanders striker a missed How Mineas 0-2 loss to Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium last Sunday and is expected to be back in the country next week.
Should he make the grade How Mine are ready to release him to the ambitious Black Leopards, a team playing in the second tier of South African football and aiming a return to the ABSA Premiership.
a?If he makes the grade then we will not stand in his way. It has always been the position of the club to allow our players to move to greener pastures. We expect him to be back in the country next week,a? said How Mine chairman Paul Mark Andrews.
Sibanda (ABOVE) was given a new lease of life under How Mine coach Kelvin Kaindu but it remains to be seen if the powers-that-be at Black Leopards think he is good enough to make a move to Limpopo Province.
Former Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas is expected to join another NFD side AmaZulu in July and it is widely believed Gamecocks goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze will follow suit.
