Tino Benza apologises for red card

Curtworth Masango

HERENTALS forward, Tino Benza has apologised to his teammates and fans after an off-the-ball incident resulted in his expulsion in their 1- 2 defeat to Black Rhinos.

The forward said it is a learning curve for him and will emerge stronger.

“I would like to first apologise to my teammates, and the fans, for the red card incident.

“It was an unfortunate moment during a heated game.

“I made a mistake and was punished for it. I am learning and growing, I will definitely do better in similar situations next time.”

Tino was the first player to get a goal for the Students this season.

He scored against the same opponents in the second half of the season.

“I am very happy about it, especially because both goals came with the team collecting maximum points.

“I’m looking forward to scoring more goals, it has given me more confidence going forward.

“The expectations from the team will not change, I will work hard to score and create chances for my teammates.

“My confidence is high at the moment and I’m looking forward to the next game I will play.” Tino said he takes constructive criticism as part of efforts to help him improve his game.

“Constructive criticism is always good for me. I take it and apply it in areas I need to improve.

“However, there are negative comments that come from people driving their own agendas, those I don’t pay any attention to.

“I have my own high expectations for myself, I’m working hard for my team and doing well.

“I thank all the fans for their support and love. The team is in good spirits and decent form.

“Come and support us in your numbers, recruit your friends and family to join the Herentals Family.”
