Altfin,NetOne launch mobile medical aid scheme
Harare — Altfin Insurance Company has partnered with NetOne to launch a mobile phone based medical aid scheme that targets people who are not formally employed.
Known as MedAccess, the scheme is the first of its kind to be launched in Zimbabwe.
Retrenchment figures double
Harare — The number of laid-off workers has gone up to 3 605 from 1 605 last year, the Retrenchment Board said yesterday.
Low capacity utilisation, low product demand, obsolete machinery susceptible to frequent breakdowns, lack of working capital and raw materials, are some of the factors triggering retrenchments.
An official from the board said the retrenchees were drawn from 144 companies countrywide.
