Zamfi invites loan applications

THE Zimbabwe Association of Micro-Finance Institutions (Zamfi) has started inviting applications from micro-lending institutions to access more than $1,6 million funding under its wholesale facility trust.
Zamfi in conjunction with CBZ established an apex fund called the Zimbabwe Microfinance Wholesale Facility Trust (ZMWFT) to provide wholesale funding to financial service providers that serve micro, small and medium enterprises. The deadline for submission of application forms is 13 January 2012.
Zim ready for SMEs bourse
Conditions in Zimbabwe are now ripe for setting up a stock exchange for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) since they are major players in economic development, a cabinet Minister said.
Calls to set up an SMEs stock exchange have been growing since adoption of multiple foreign currencies and formation of the inclusive Government in 2009.

DEVELOPING countries should unite and challenge the abuse of the international justice system by the so-called superpowers, Mberengwa East Member of the House of Assembly Cde Makhosini Hlongwane said.
In an interview with Chronicle yesterday, Cde Hlongwane, who heads the Zimbabwean delegation to the African Caribbean, Pacific and European (ACPEU) Joint Parliamentary Assembly (JPA), said there was a need to revise the running of international bodies so that developing countries could derive equal benefit from them.
