AN Epworth woman was seriously burnt after her husband caught her being intimate with another man in their bedroom and set the grass-thatched house on fire.
The incident occurred on Christmas Day last year.

Russell Tawadya (28) of 3335 Overspill, could not contain his anger after finding his wife’s alleged loverin his house and he set the house on fire.
The wife, Amanda Nyama, sustained severe burns and is still admitted at Parirenyatwa Hospital while her sister and the suspected lover were treated and discharged.

Tawadya had been on the run since December last year and was only arrested this month.
He appeared in court yesterday charged with attempted murder and was not asked to plead.
Magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei remanded him in custody to April 5 for routine remand and advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.

BILLING problems in Harare and Bulawayo could persist longer amid reports the State Procurement Board has withdrawn prepaid meters tender awards for the two cities.
The board had reportedly erroneously awarded tenders to a South African company, Nyamezele (Pvt) Ltd, in breach of its tender regulations.

Consumers want prepaid meters which allow them to pay for electricity they would have used as opposed to estimated bills.
