President Mugabe who is Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, said the nation had lost an accomplished historian, an educationist, a diplomat and consummate politician.

THE death of Higher and Tertiary Education Minister, Dr Stanislaus Isaac Gorerazvo Mudenge, has plunged Masvingo province into mourning with people across the political divide yesterday pouring their condolences.
The veteran nationalist, who was Masvingo North legislator, collapsed and died in his hotel room at the Great Zimbabwe Hotel on Thursday afternoon where he was scheduled to give a keynote speech to academics. He was 71.
Dr Mudenge’s hero status is expected to be announced today, Zanu-PF spokesperson Cde Rugare Gumbo said yesterday.
