Teachers lose thousands to money-lending firm

A number of teachers in Gweru could have lost thousands of dollars to a closed money lending company, All Angels, which has allegedly been deducting money from their salaries for years.
The teachers accused the closed micro-finance company of deducting money from their salaries without their consent some years after the company was ordered to close by the Reserve Bank Governor, Dr Gideon Gono.

Diamond production at Murowa up 28pc

Diamond production at Zvishavane-based Murowa Mine increased to 92 000 carats in the third quarter, up from 72 000 carats produced in the same period last year, parent company Rio Tinto reported on Wednesday.

Call for second-hand car imports ban

GOVERNMENT must ban imports of second-hand cars to reduce the country’s huge import bill which is contributing to liquidity challenges facing the economy, business executive Dr Joseph Kanyekanye has said.

In an interview, he said second-hand cars were contributing to the trade deficit, which will end the year at more than $2,8 billion.
