Judge President George Chiweshe yesterday said the presentation of the merits would enable him to make a decision on the application.

Gweru men hospitalised after reaction to circumcision

THREE Gweru men, among them a father and son, were reportedly admitted to Gweru Provincial Hospital after they reacted by bleeding profusely after being circumcised at the hospital’s circumcision clinic.

In an interview, one of the men said he had taken his son, aged 16, to the hospital circumcision clinic when they suffered the complications.

He said he was hospitalised in the same ward with his son for three days following the anomaly.

Govt launches survey on SMEs

GOVERNMENT has launched a national survey on small and medium enterprises to help come up with effective policies for the sector.

The surveys started last week and would run until December.

Enumerators for the survey who completed their training recently have been deployed in the field.

Church messenger on $27 000 theft charges

A MESSENGER employed by a church appeared in court yesterday facing charges of theft involving more than $27 000.

Alexander Moyo (43), of Block 46/1493 Mpopoma and is employed by Seventh Day Adventist Book Centre pleaded not guilty to theft when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Ms Gladmore Mushove.

Wheat production declines, high costs cited

ZIMBABWE’S wheat production has declined since it costs more to grow it than import, even when transport costs are factored in.

The country only started growing wheat after the Unilateral Declaration of Independence in 1965 when the illegal Ian Smith regime was hit by sanctions.

It was never an economic decision to grow the crop.

MDC-T members in surprise appearance at Zanu-PF rally

TWO MDC-T members on Sunday surprised many when they turned up at a Zanu-PF rally which was being addressed by the Member of Parliament for Umguza, Dr Obert Mpofu.

The two are the Member of Parliament for Hwange Central, Mr Brian Tshuma and the Hwange Rural District Council chairperson, Councillor Cosmas Kaboloma Ndlovu.

The rally was held at Dinde Shopping Centre in Hwange Central Constituency.
