Council, EasiPark clash over cash

A FIGHT over revenue has erupted between Harare City Council and EasiHold of South Africa as the firm insists that the city cannot benefit yet from their parking deal.
Council and EasiHold are in a joint venture through EasiPark to control parking bays in Harare.
Council is supposed to get 60 percent of the profits while EasiHold gets the remainder.
But EasiHold is arguing that it cannot share the profits it has been making since 2009 until a shareholders’ agreement is signed.
There are no indications that the agreement will be signed any time soon.
EasiHold officials are also refusing to have their operations audited, arguing that it was not part of the deal.
Council officials say they are not aware of how many parking lots Easipark is operating because there is no audit.
